Travel Trailers
The Trailer and
the Truck.
I sell Rockwood, R-Pod and Winnebago travel trailers alongside new and used Fords, in Dewey, near Prescott. Because I sell both, I can match the trailer to a vehicle that can actually tow it.
Brands I Sell
Pick a Brand
Rockwood

Forest RiverR-Pod

Which Ford Can Tow It?
Before I sold Fords, I sold RVs, and the most common problem I saw was a trailer that was too much for the truck. Here’s how a few real floor plans line up against Ford’s published tow ratings.
| Trailer | Maverick | Explorer | Ranger | Expedition | F-150 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| R-Pod RP-153 GVWR 4,524 lbs | Over | Tight | Good fit | Good fit | Good fit |
| Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108DS GVWR 5,500 lbs | Over | Over | Good fit | Good fit | Good fit |
| R-Pod RP-206 GVWR 6,229 lbs | Over | Over | Tight | Good fit | Good fit |
| Rockwood Ultra Lite 2606WS GVWR 8,542 lbs | Over | Over | Over | Tight | Good fit |
Good fit: trailer GVWR at or under 80% of the Ford’s max tow rating (my rule of thumb). Tight: under the rating but without much margin. Over: above the rating. Max ratings below apply to properly equipped vehicles only; your truck may be rated lower. Always check payload too.
| Ford | Max towing | When |
|---|---|---|
| Maverick | 4,000 lbs | with the 4K Tow Package |
| Explorer | 5,000 lbs | standard Class III tow package |
| Ranger | 7,500 lbs | properly equipped |
| Expedition | 9,600 lbs | 4x4 with Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package |
| F-150 | 13,500 lbs | properly equipped, 3.5L EcoBoost |
Ford ratings from ford.com for current model years. Trailer specs are published manufacturer figures for one example floor plan; options change weight, so confirm on the specific trailer’s sticker.
FAQ
Questions I Get a Lot
What RV brands do you sell?
Rockwood, R-Pod and Winnebago travel trailers, new at the dealership where I work in Dewey, near Prescott. Text me what you’re looking for and I’ll tell you what’s in stock.
Do you sell motorhomes or fifth wheels?
Right now I’m focused on travel trailers (bumper pulls). If you have a question about something else, text me anyway.
Can you help me pick a truck and a trailer together?
That’s the whole idea. I sell both, so I can match the trailer to a Ford that can safely tow it, or tell you honestly if the truck you already own is enough.
Should I go by the trailer’s dry weight?
No. Dry weight is the trailer empty. Use the GVWR on the trailer’s sticker, the maximum it can weigh loaded, and compare that to your vehicle’s tow rating. Then check payload.
Find Your
Trailer.
Text me the trailer you’re looking at, or the truck you’ll tow with. I’ll send a walkaround and a straight answer on whether they’re a match.
NO PRESSURE. NO RUNAROUND. TEXT ANYTIME.
